About
My Son is Stevie and he is an addict. His drug of choice is heroin. He started abusing Oxycontin when he was 16 and graduated to mainlining heroin when he was 18. This is our story; Stevie’s and me, his mother. This is the story of Stevie’s life chasing the high, and my life chasing after him. It is our hopes that this blog will help strengthen our relationship, assist Stevie on the road to recovery and to offer help and encouragement to other’s chasing as I write this. We pray our story will convince you to chase a new high, a natural high on life.
This story is factual. Names have been changed for obvious reasons. It is graphic. It is real. There is no hero in heroin.
I really love you blog and wish you and Stevie the best! I just began a blog with lots about early sobriety. Good luck!

Hello! I’ve read through several of your pages and just wanted to leave a comment. I am a former addict. Beyond the physical factors that keep people using, (which are daunting) it’s about getting an emotional need met and not knowing how to go about it any other way. I just pray that Stevie will get the help he needs in finding that real “way”.
It’s a spiritual bondage, and needs to be approached as such…

I do not even know how I ended up here, but I thought this post was good. I do not know who you are but certainly you’re going to a famous blogger if you are not already 😉 Cheers!

So much of my son’s story is like Stevie’s. However, the ending was different. My son also became enchanted with opiods at age 16 and was on heroin by age 19. I am in the process of writing up his journals of his last year and the battle he fought. What joy! Stevie is winning this!
